What Could Itchy, Raised Dots On Legs And Hands With Red Center Indicate?

Hi! The other day my leg started breaking out in dots that resembled polka dots but with a dark red center like someone pricked the middle of the polka dots spreading all over my legs and feet. They have only stayed on my legs but I have 2-3 spots on my hands. Over a night they have become really itchy and have raised along with the center becoming a lighter color. On occasions they get tingly. I just want it to go away and have no idea if they are possible bug bites or a much worse cause.

Hello,

These spots could be related to an infection or an allergic reaction. For this reason, I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and performing some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
