What Could Heavy Headedness With Difficulty Sleeping While Having Diabetes Mean?
MY Dad ( age 72) is a diabetic. For last 40 yrs he made sure he took proper care of his health and was healthy all along. Recently about 8 months ago he notice slight loss of vision in his right eye and doctors diagnosed and operated ratina eye hole. he was advised to sleep on his stomach with head down for a few days to allow more blood flow to his eyes. After about a month he suffered heavy burning sensation in his head and part of his upper hands - shoulders to elbow. Pains were so sever that he used to bang his head against the wall. Doctors made him undergo all possible tests and found nothing wrong - but said the pains could be due to loss of nerves sensitivity - diabetic neuropathy. He is unable to sleep at night. He is not convinced by the doctors diagnosis. He recently was seen by head of Neurology department and he suggested use of Pragalin SR and Zolfresh. Now my dad complains of heavy headedness in the morning and still does not sleep well at night. The heavy headedness seem to go away if he rests and sleep during the day. Can someone shed some light and help.
The heavy headedness is due to lack of sleep. Diabetic Neuropathy more commonly affects the nerves of the feet although nerves in any part of the body may be damaged. Praglin SR and Zolfresh is a good practical combination which will take some time to work. So please be patient and follow up with the neurologist. ( keep good blood sugar control)
