What Could Hard Bloody Bowels In Children Suggest?

Hi. I m a mom of a 13 yr old special needs daughter. She has a lot of problems with her bowels from time to time I have to give her a suppositorie. The older she gets it gets harder. She moved on me and the suppositorie went into her vagina. I tried to stop it but it went in. There was a very small smear of blood on my glove. Will this harm her or hurt her? I am so upset with myself. Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
You have not mentioned what suppository you tried to place inside. With the history of difficult bowel movements I presume it was bisacodyl.
You need not worry about the suppository slipping in to vagina. It will not cause any harm.
But since you have mentioned about small smear of blood on your glove, i would advise you to get medical attention to look for the cause of bleed. Local injury or a probable fissure or hemorrhoid could be the possible cause for the blood smear on your glove.
I hope that answers your question.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
