What Could Flaking Skin In Bottom, Sore Mouth With Vomiting And High Fever In A Child Having Cerebral Palsy Suggest?

my 8 year old daughter with Cerebral Palsy has been to GP this week after having vomiting and high fever and rash all over her body for most of the weekend. We were told that it was a virus, today she was feeling well enough to return to school after 5 days recovering. As she was getting dressed this morning I noticed that the cheeks of her bottom had very dry flacking/peeling skin and she also has a very sore mouth?

It is possible that these symptoms are caused by a virus. Most such illnesses resolve within one week and will get better with time. However, if she has high fevers and a peeling rash, she should be seen again soon by her physician. If she has conjunctivitis or pink eye, the diagnosis of Kawasaki's disease should be considered. It is also important to keep her well hydrated, monitor the temperature, and to follow up with her physician.
