What Could Fibrous Clots On Lungs In Autoimmune Individuals Suggest?
I have autoimmunity. I have a lupus like syndrome that I m still being worked up for. I was recently put on Plsquenil and am starting to feel better but still have occasional shortness of breath and a recent flare that caused phlebitis with bruising. I have vasculitis. Today I sneezed and a fibrous blood clot came out of my lungs. I m wondering if I should be concerned and what if anything I should do. I go to the dr a lot and don t want to go again for no reason.
Thanks for your question on HCM. You are having Hemoptysis ( blood in sputum ). It is common in autoimmune vasculitis like SLE ( Systemic Lupus Erythematosus). And Hemoptysis suggest pulmonary involvement. Pulmonary lesions in SLE are 1. Fibrosis 2. Interstitial pneumonia 3. Ground glass opacification 4. Nodules 5. Pulmonary embolism. Etc So better to consult pulmonologist and get done CT THORAX with contrast to rule out all these. It is advisable to consult doctor.
