What Could Feeling Of Foggy Headedness With Racing Heart Indicate?

I am a 48 yr old male, non-smoker, in relatively good shape. Recently, I was at my Dr because I was getting a foggy head feeling and my neck was tired/sore. I was prescribed a muscle relaxer to see if that alleviated my neck tightness and hopefully help with the foggy head. She did say that my blood pressure was elevated (148/89), but that may be due to the discomfort in my neck. It did alleviate the tightness, but the foggy head stayed. Then today, I ran two miles on a treadmill (which is my normal every other day routine) and then went to a class I was attending. A couple hours later, I had this dizzy like I m going to pass out feeling come over me and noticed my heart was racing and having difficulty getting my breath. It was scary! After a minute or so, I was able to level off and I got some orange juice at break. Seemed to help. Right now, I still have the foggy headedness, but not so much the feeling like I am going to pass out. My breathing and heart rate feel normal now.

Hi,

Well, certainly an arrythmia can change blood flow to the head and cause fogging. this is a serious situation if you have it. The fogging can last a little while after the arrhythmia. Holter monitoring can be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
