What Could Constant Chest Pain While Breathing?

Hi! My name is Amanda and I am 15 years old, I have felt constant pain when exhaling for the past 4 days. It is located slightly above my heart and has kept me awake at night. It feels like someone is pressing down onto my chest and like there is torsion in the area. This is stressing me out, any idea as to what it could be?

Thanks for your question on HCM. In central chest pain you should rule out cardiac cause and lung cause. Get done ECG to rule out cardiac cause. Get done chest x ray to tule out pulmonary cause. If both these are normal than you may have GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease). This is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. So acid of the stomach tend to come up in the esophagus and cause pain. Follow these steps for GERD.
1. Avoid spicy and oily food.
2. Avoid heavy meals, take frequent small meals.
3. Avoid stress and anxiety.
4. Take good antacids like proton pump inhibitors.
5. Go for walk after meals.
6. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bed.
