What Could Cause Veins Becoming Pronounced On The Left Breast?

For the last several months, I have been noticing the veins on my left breast and chest becoming much more pronounced. I also have occasional pain in the same spot on my left breast, where one of the prominent veins runs through. I am a 54 yr. old post-menopausal woman. No close family history of breast cancer, but yes on other cancers (skin, pancreatic). Should I be concerned?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can.

No need to woryy, but ultrasound is required. In most cases it is vein thrombosis or thrombophlebitis and it should be gone withon weeks. However, you should do ultrasound to rule out some more serious diagnoses.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
