ENT Specialist 's  Response
I appreciate the close observation of your problem.
Most of the time viral infection on pre existing weak naso pharyngeal mucosal defence barrier causes such type of symptoms. The weak defence barrier is often seen due to repeated exposure to cold, dry, dusty weather, allergy, acid reflux from stomach. The viral infection more over reduces local immunity further making it vulnerable to bacterial and fungal infection.
I would suggest to take
-Antihistamine drug like levoceterizine 5mg two times for 5 days,
-A gastric acid suppressant drug like Ranitidine 150mg two times or liquid antacid solution,
-Enough fluid per mouth and fruit juice( will boost your immunity)
-A cough suppressant.
-Tablet Paracetamol 500 if pain over ribs are more.
Steam inhalation will be of extra benefit.
Hope it will be helpful.
