What Could Cause Red Patches On The Insides Of Cheek, It Spreads And Leaves Cracks In Mouth?

Hello. My name is Daechia and I ve developed red patches on the inside of my cheek and now it has spread all through my cheeks causing my mouth to feel dry and rough. From there some of the red patches as turned into cracks in my mouth leaving red lines and some lose cheek skin.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

I would keep a possibility of Oral Lichen planus. It is an autoimmune condition and can involve the skin as well as the mucosa.

I would advice that you get a confirmatory diagnosis from an experienced dermatologist since it is hard for me to confirm it without having a look at it.

Treatment of Oral liochen planus is with oral steroids (tabs and gels/pastes), immunomodulator/antiinflammatory oral and topical drugs like tcrolimus, hydroxychloroquin and dapsone can also be prescribed by your treating dermatologist
