What Could Cause Pain In Lower Back And Spine After Having Spinal Taps?

I had 4 spinal taps when i had my son and about 1-2 wks after I had him I started getting pains in my lower back that go up as far as the top spinal was done and the pain feels like contractions like when in labor, what could this be? I also get pains in my hips to the point my hips are actually numb.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient lower back pain is very common complaint after spinal or dual puncture. And since there are multiple punctures in your case further increase risk of back pain. There are multi reasons for that like 1.local muscle spasm 2. Puncture site inflammation and infection 3. Decrease in spinal fluid amount. Get yourself examined for all this possible etiology. Numbness in your hips might be due to nerve irritation during spinal picture. I would suggest you to visit expert spine surgeon and take an opinion.
