What Could Cause On And Off Numbness In Face While Being On Blood Thinners?

Was diagnosed with CVST in May due to facial, arm and leg numbness on left side. Been on blood thinners for three months and have occasional facial numbness( every 2-3 weeks). Ruled out MS with MRI and CT scans. Any ideas? Was 5 months PP when I got the clot and on Mirena. Have Thyroid (hypo) but otherwise very healthy.

Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to partial epilepsy seizures.

They are a common complication of CVST.

So, I would recommend performing an EEG to exclude this possibility. If the diagnosis is confirmed, you may need to start an antiepileptic drug.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
