What Could Cause My Inability To Smell And Taste Food After Flu And Colonoscopy?
I don't have sense of smell and taste for about 4 wks now , recently i have 2 weeks flu and had a colonoscopy on the 3rd week just wondering why i can't smell and taste my food, i have osteoporosis and taking clacium with vid D and actonel is there any relation to my condition . thnks
after a flu itself your sense of smell can become less. also you may have a nose block due to deviated septum, polyps or a turbinate hypertrophy. Your medications will usually not cause smell loss
In essence you can just take a course of antihistamine for a couple of weeks along with steam inhalation with menthol and if it does not improve then you must take a CT PNS and also nasal endoscopy and get back to me or any ENT with the reports
get well soon
