What Could Cause Left Sided Pain In A 5 Years Old Child?

My five year old son is complaining that his left side hurts. He has been crying off an on for about an hour now. He can t stand up straight when he walks. At first I thought maybe his bone was just sore after lying on the floor playing. What could this be?

Hi,
Welcome to Hcm.
Its not very clear from your question which part of the body s left side is hurting in your son.
There can be various possibilities with every part of the body. I assume that your talking about the trunk part and the possibilities I can think of is some trauma that would have lead to it most commonly in this age group is an accidental collision with a friend while playing. If there is no skin discoloration in that area and no obvious swelling, then hot fomentation and resting that area is a good enough remedy. If pain worsens or persists then you need to consult a pediatrician for this. Hope your query is cleared. Take care.
