My 62 yr old brother is dying from nonalcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. There is a chance after his heart is checked out and they do lab work and a heart "cath" in week or so, he could be top on the transplant list. When I talk to him on the phone, his voice is so hoarse that he can hardly talk. Is this normal and why? Thanks!
Any history of intubation or throat pain with or without fever? if yes, then a course of steroid or a course of antibiotic can be effective respectively. But still I need a liver function test, to check if the liver can take these medicines
