What Could Cause Heaviness In Chest And Throat Blockage?

i HAVE HAD A COLD, HOWEVER, MY CHEST FEELS HEAVY AND i FEEL MY THROAT IS BLOCKED BY MUCUS. tHE MUCUS IS QUITE THICK BUT NOT YELLOW . wAS PRESCRIBED ANTIBIOTICS BUT AFTER FINISHING THE COURSE, THE SYMPTOMS ARE STILL APPARENT. fIND IT DIFFICULT TO SLEEP AT NIGHT COZ i FEEL i CANT BREATH. i AM ALWAYS SWALLOWING TRIYING TO CLEAR WHATEVER IS ON ME THROAT AND CHEST. i AM NOT DYING, AM I?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Noted your history of very thick sputum which is difficult to clear and feeliing of blockage of the respiratory passage in spite of an antibiotic course.
The mucus is thick but not colored.
I would advise you the following:
Consult your Doctor and request him for mucolytic medicines.
Take steam inhalations.
Stop antihistamines as they dry up the secretions.
This will help you to expectorate the mucus and you will get fine.
Coughing after steam inhalation helps as also the deep breathing exercises.
