What Could Cause Frequent Stomach Pain?

Hi my 9 year old daughter started having tummy pain about 10 months ago with sickness and diarrhea, she was taken to hospital as the pain was that bad. At first they thought it was her appendix but blood tests ruled that out. Since then she suffers with on and off fever sickness diarrhea with tummy pain anywhere from upper right hand side to lower tummy also can go into her back. I've had her at the doctors who have said it could just be one of those things or ibs. I wasn't happy with this and seen another doctor who has done blood test which have come back clear. Again this week my daughters school have rang to say she's running a temp and has tummy pain, I managed to speak to my doctor who is now sending her for a scan we just have to wait for the date but these last few days my daughter is going crazy saying her scalp and skin is itchy and she has a metallic taste in her mouth which I can smell and have noticed on her for the last few months. ??

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The first possibility of the stomach ache and fever suggests an infection of the gastrointestinal tract.
A stool examination needs to be done to look for evidence of infection.
Itching on skin and scalp further supports the presence of parasitic infection.
A deworming course will clear away the parasitic infection(s).
You can go for abdominal scan to look for any organomegaly or any other abnormality.
Stay in touch with your treating doctor for further workup; however, do add stool examination.

Thanks and take care
