What Could Cause Extremely High Heart Rate?

My wife has an extremely high heart rate when standing (jumps up between 50-70 BPM). We have spoken to a Cardiologist and he assumes its POTS. She had an ablation test done on her heart and the Dr said her heart looked fine, so he was sure it was POTS. He put her on a certain med that i guess is common for POTS. 3 days after taking the medication she had sever Bradychardia and had to be hospitalized. Now we are at a loss and cannot seem to get a definitve answer. She was on Beta Blockers for it but that made her literally pass out and I had to call 911. So if you could please kind of point us in the right direction it would be so helpful. I am currently in the military stationed in Colorado and I have been taking a lot of time off of work becuase we cant get an answer on what is wrong with her. Thank you for any help you could give us. If you have any further questions please ask, I might have left something out im not sure.

Hello! Thank you for question on HCM! I understand your concern about your wife's heart problem; seems that your wife suffers form what the doctor has referred to you; BUT to clarify the diagnosis a Head up Tilt Table test should be performed in order to induce and confirm the presence of Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome ( I don't know if this test is performed already). There are different causes for POTS to occur; many of them are hard to define.
Nevertheless, there are some simple changes in the life style that could help to avoid or minimize the associated disturbances (such as taking excessive fluid in order to expand blood volume and minimize hypotension; avoiding rapid position changing; performing exercise for muscle strengthening especially for lower limbs and abdomen, etc).
Of course there are different classes of drugs that could help; including antidepressants; midodrine or even ivabradine but i am not sure about their safety profile when used for a long time (they need frequent medical monitoring).
Hope to have been helpful to you. Feel free to a ask me again if you have additional exam reports.Greetings from Dr. Iliri.
