What Could Cause Disorientation?

I went swimming yesterday for the first time this season and when I went under my left ear POPped and then sounded like it was screaming. I went to the surface and felt completely disoriented and got out and layed down. I thought maybe it was water in my ear so today when it wasn t better I put a drop of alcohol in it and when the drop dropped down it felt like I got punched in the ear and I could almost TASTE the alcohol. What do you think happened?
