Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had 2 babies in the last 4 years. In the last year I ve lost around 10 pounds and have been exercising Much more regularly than in the past. In the last month I ve noticed a bone near my sternum sticking out. I ve also had discomfort in the area (what feels like could be heart burn). Should I be concerned?
What I feel is since you are exercising too much there might be losing of the fat tissue from the area. Also, having it checked is no harm but a sensible decision.
The bony appearance should be just the costochondral joint and nothing apart from that.
If you have any kind of breathless and chest pain in combination then better to get it checked once.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Jay Indravadan Patel, Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
