What Could Cause Constriction In Calfs And Ankles?

In the last few days i have noticed my legs have been swelling , to the point my calfs and ankles feel constricted, leaving the strap imprints of my shoes, this is more than usual and accompanied with unbearable heartburn to the point I have to force myself to eat. My diet hasn t changed and I am a bit concerned!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

For leg swelling first rule out hypoproteinemia by blood protein estimation....

Second liver causes has to be ruled out...
If needed liver function test with USG done.

Kidney function abnormality can lead leg swelling ...renal function test esp.urea , creatinine estimation done....

Finally cardiac causes has to be ruled out by ECG and 2D echo to rule out heart failure....

Your detail examination has to be done.
See here deep vein thrombosis also has to be ruled out if calf pain in dorsiflexing toe.....

Take care....

Consult physician with my advise keeping in mind....
