What Could Cause Big, Hard, Sore Pimples On Elbows That Gets Inflamed?

I used to get a lot of pimples which would turn big and hard and the whole area used to get inflamed. The doc told me it was an inflammation of the hair follicle. Went on a course of meds. But used to occur mainly during menstruation. Has stopped now but my 11 year old son got on his elbow n its really sore. Is it really that?????

Hi,

You may be having folliculitis, which now improved..right? So,you need no treatment at present. Your son may be having phrynoderma most probably, which occurs on elbow s commonly in children. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to give him vitamin A caps ules for long time under supervision of your doctor. Apply 6% salicylic acid oint on his elbows twice a day.

Hope this helps.
