What Could Calculus In The Renal Mid Calyx In The Ultrasound Report Suggest?
Dear Sir, My wife 62 years is leading an active life.Due to high acidity was advised ultasonography of KUB &PELVIS,revealed, a 4mm calculus in the right renal mid calyx without hydronephrosis orcaiectasis. Also a well defined homogenous hyperchoic focus noted in right renal upper pole cortico-medullary junction measuring10mm.Left renal normal. Kindly advise. Thanks,G K Bansal
Your wife's findings suggests small 4 mm calculus in mid pole of right kidney. It is good that there is no obstructive symptoms due to calculus. She may need stone dissolving drugs. This also need clinical correlation. She should drink plenty of water.Small calculus may pass spontaneously.
There is also a small 10 mm hyperechoic structure noted in upper pole of right kidney. It may be a angiomyolipoma. This is a benign incidental finding. It generally doesn't require any treatment.
She is having single , small stone in her right kidney , its very small 4mm only, and can get removed without surgery. Tell her to drink lot of water and avoid some foods like cabbage , non veg.
