What Could Bite Marks Like Rashes On Body Indicate?

My husband has had a rash now for some time. When he visited the GP, he said that it was only an allergy rash. Sometimes it is worse than normal. He asked me to look up shingles on the computer. I m sure it s not shingles. They look like bite marks. Can you help? Our email address is: YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
welcome to HCM.
Thanks for your query.

If you are sure that its not a shingles and possibly bite marks then the pain associated with it is expected.

The allergic rash at the bite site is due to inflammatory reaction going on there.

Your husband may have to take a course of anti-inflammatory medications like Tab Motrin 400mg twice daily after food for three days along with application of the anti-histaminic cream.

If the rashes does not subside even after three day dose of Tab Motrin and antihitamies then you must get it examined by a dermatologist as they could be something other than bite marks.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

Regards,
