What Could Be Wrong If The Child Is Abnormal Chest Sound?

My child has been prescribed amoxycillin he is 4 years old . Doctor was a little vague but said his chest sounded bad in bottom left side but glands are also large. Seemed concerned that I let him know immediately if he doesn't improve with anti biotics . What else could he think could be wrong.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi dear.
welcome to the HCM,
Respiratory tract infections are quite common in children.Abnormal sounds means some expectoration is present in the breathing tubes causing some gurgling sounds. Needs to be treated with complete course of antibiotic with adequate doses.
If the abnormal sounds or cough do not respond to the conventional antibiotic treatment then child should be investigated in terms of CXR. CBC, ESR. to know any other chronic infection in the body and accordingly baby to be treated.
Hope the query is answered.
thanks
