What Could Be The Reason For Having Pain In My Chest And Stomach?

chest pain & stomach pain
For a year now I've been getting bad chest pain, like if a 350lb person is sitting on my chest. It has gotten to a point, many times, that I cry because it hurts so bad. What do you think it is? I'm a Medical Assistant and I assume many different things. The stomach pains are definetly to cry about. It feels like someone is stabbing me, above my belly button to the right and left about 3inches. I'm scared! Advice?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux) is more.
But better to get done ecg and 2d echo to first to rule out heart diseases because this can cause similar symptoms.
If both of these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
GERD is due laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Because of this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause the symptoms of chest pain, pressure, stomach pain etc.
So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
Take proton pump inhibitors and prokinetic drugs.
Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
