What Could Be The Reason For Having Boils On My Baby's Neck?
My three month old baby is breaking out with boils on her neck. There are currently about 4 large boils around her neck and shoulder region. She had this same kind of thing when she was two months old an a week and about 7 boils after, they stopped. I did not give any medication. What might be causing the boils and do you think i should give antibiotics this time around
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
First a physical examination is required to identify what type of lesions they are. I am very sorry to mention that it is difficult to comment on the management with out having a look at them. If it is only infection then antibiotics may be of value. You should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause.
Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care. Dr Y V Siva Sankara Murty M.D.(Pediatrics) Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Hi. Thanks for your query. Physical examination will be required to make diagnosis. In the meantime apply calamine lotion 2 to 3 times a day. Hope this helps. Take care.
