What Could Be The Reason For Having Blood In Urine After Having Menopause Previously?
I stopped having periods when I turned 52. Yesterday and today I am passing a little blood when I urinate but I have no pain and it doesn t smell. It will sometimes just spot in a pad I am wearing to keep track. I am planning on getting an appointment soon with an ob/gyn but wondered if I should be worried or if this happens during menopause.
Hello Thanks for query . Blood in the urine (Hematuria) after the age of menopause is mostly due to one of the following two reasons. 1) Bladder infection (Cystitis) 2) Mass in the bladder which could be benign or malignant .
You need to consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis. 1) Urine routine and culture. 2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
