What Could Be The Opacity Found In The X-ray? I Was Diagnosed With PTB

i had a minimal ptb some 12 years ago that was left untreated because of allergies to some medicines.i had an xray recently and it said an ill defined opacity measuring about 1 cm was seen in my right upper lobe and that this could be due to ptb.what does this mean?is it terminal?
i am 32 years old.5'3 and i tried to smoke 13 years ago but i never consumed as much as 15 sticks of cigarettes

Thanks for writing in.

The lung opacity in right upper lobe is due to lung scarring as a result of your PTB 12 years ago. It will last life long and does not mean that you still have PTB. It is not terminal illness. As we see scars on skin after an injury, lung infections also cause scarring in the lungs and this does not disappear. If you have cough and respiratory symptoms then you may have to get checked for any other respiratory infection and take treatment.
