What Could Be The Cyst On The Left Side Of My Throat?

I am 50 years old. I had my tonsils out 6 weeks ago it heeled nicely. In the past 2 weeks I have developed quite a large cyst on my left side of my throat that causes me to wheeze when I breath. I have took amoxicilling for a week now with no change. Should I be worried and do you think it us related to the tonsillectomy

Hello

The cyst is likely to be a mucus retention cyst and most of these will resolve spontaneously and need no treatment. However if it continues to increase in size or you develop fever, pain or difficulty in swallowing , then meet your ent doctor , who will remove it for you, dont worry , you will be fine.

Thanks
