What Could Be The Cause Of Hard Lump On The Head ?
A week ago I noticed a lump on the left side of my head about 1 inch from the temple in my hair . It was tender and soft but now a week later it is rock hard and large. It does not have any movement nor does it hurt. What could this be? I saw a physician about it when it first appeared who to apply warm compress and it should be gone in a few days or could be cut opened and emptied however this did not work and I cannot cut it open myself. I saw another physician who said that with the antibiotics I had been on for pneumonia it should clear up and dissipate but this did not happen either. I attempted to open it using a needle but it would not open and i could not feel the needle at all. What should I do? what could this be?
Do not attempt to open it as it may cause infection and worsen the condition. It is really difficult to comment what it might be without examining it. It may be a sebaceous cyst or keratoacanthoma or a tumour, I suggest you visit a surgeon and get a biopsy of the swelling done at the earliest.
