What Could Be The Cause Of Cough Not Subsiding With Budecort?
doctor, my 2.5 year old son is constantly suffering with cough and cold in the past 2.5 years, he has been admitted int he hospital twice due to this he is constantly in need of nebulization we keep nebulizing him with budecort but that is not helping he has another bout on 31st dec and finally had recovered by 13th jan we have been giving him a puff of foracort since then but he still suffered another bout for which he is being nebulized with budecort but to no avail. what can the primary problem be?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you should get done chest x ray of your son. Because chronic cough, not improving with budecort (budesonide) is mostly due to chronic lung infection like tuberculosis or fungal infection. So chest x ray is must to rule out this. If chest x ray is inconclusive then he may need CT thorax too.
