What Could Be The Cause Of Constant Coughing In A Non-smoker?

Coughing up a storm?
Hello
I have been coughing like a pack a day smoker for the past few days. (I do not smoke what so ever). However it is getting in the way of my life. I am not able to propperly eat or dink because it hurts just to swallow.
My throat is bright red and my nose is extremely stuffy. My ears hurt too but I am assuming that is becacuse of my nose.

What could it be that I have and how can I sooth my throat in order to be able to eat and drink properly and have it not get in the way of my life?
