What Could Be The Cause Of Blood Clots In Sputum Of A Pregnant Smoker ?

I am 40 weeks pregnant and have a bad cough which has resulted in me coughing up what looks like blood cloths I m 26, height 5 ft 4 in and I way 12 stone , and I m a smoker.... What does this mean ?

Welcome to HCM,
At this time any type of cough is to be prevented as it may increase abdominal pressure and it affects uterus.
As there is blood in the cough you should evaluate your problem.
Consult physician and get investigated with CBC,ESR and if unavoidable go for Xray chest and rule out any pathology like pneumonitis etc.
Remain in cotact with your Obst.
