What Could Be Making My Vitamin D Levels Low?

I take multivitamins every day but my last few lab tests have shown a vitamin D deficiency, I was prescribed 50,000 mg to take every week. What could be making my vitamin D so low? I also have hypothyroidism and Turner Syndrome but I don t know if it s connected.

Hello,

Don't worry according to resent study shows that 75% if Indians are deficit of vitamin D. It may be due to poor exposure to sun , or dark color people or it may be due to poor obsorption or deficiency of enzymes like 25 hydroxylase etc. So you may take vitamin d3 60000iu weekly once for 6 weeks. please recheck your vitamin level. If no improvement you may need intramuscular injections. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
