What Could Be Done For The Medicine Struck In The Trachea?

Hello, I m am asking on behalf of my step father... He took a pill this morning and it is stuck in his throat... It is not life threatening, he can breath, but coughing a lot When he drinks warm fluids, he says it provides comfort I believe it is stuck in his trachea not his esophagus... Any treatment options or shall we go to the er.. He also has mils asr..

You didn't describe name of the medicines. And since how much duration he is suffering from problem like this.
There is possibility of the medicine formulation which is responsible for the problem.
Another thing that your father has improper method of swallow medicine.
One more possibility of some problem in trachea or esophagus. So better to ask the doctor who has prescribed the medicines or you can consult ENT surgeon for proper examination and treatment.
