What Could Be Causing Lack Of Sleep And Tiredness The Whole Day?

Hi Dr. Grief. My name is Brittany. I am constantly so tired! There are times that I get adequate amounts of sleep at night (anywhere between 6-8 hours) but there are other nights where I just toss and turn. I never feel refreshed. What could be causing this and what should I have my primary care Dr look out for and test for?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lack of sleep or disturbed sleep leads to tiredness, sleepiness and discomfort during day.
Lack of sleep or disturbed sleep can occur due to many reasons.
Some of these causes are:
1. Stress or tension before sleep
2. Frequent awakening during night due to increased urination, night terrors, breathing difficulties etc.
3. Inability to fall asleep due to effect of beverages.

The cause for decreased sleep or disturbed sleep has to be found out and managed accordingly.

Thanks and take care
