What Could A Sudden Painful Knot In The Wrist With Bruising Indicate?

Yesterday I was doing several loads of laundry. I went to lift a shirt to fold it and felt a sharp pain in my right wrist. I looked at it and there was knot and a bruise forming. It is sore when I use it for simple tasks like drinking and holding a fork, but it really hurts to touch it. I did not hurt at all up until the moment I picked up the shirt. I didn t hit it or over use it. I don t do anything repetitive like a lot of typing, and because of my chronic pancreatitis, I don t usually pick up heavy things. Should I be seen by some one for this?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to a stretched tendon or muscle. In my opinion, there is no need to worry! I am sure that you will get better in the next days.

Taking Ibuprofen for the pain and having some rest will help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
