What Causes Yellowish Crust On The Nipple?

Alright. I m a 25 year old female. I m not pregnant and I don t have any kids. So there s a yellow crust scab on the tip of my nipples. I ve had this since highschool. Seven years maybe? And it does get cracked too. Someone said it could be thrush? I m not sure. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that this may be either nipple dermatitis which is inflammation/irritation of the skin at the nipples or it maybe impetigo which is a bacterial infection.

Since it has been ongoing for 7 years, you may want to consider having it checked by your doctor for treatment.
Nipple dermatitis would be treated by a change in soaps and detergents along with a steroid cream

Impetigo would require a course of antibiotics.

Some persons need a combination of treatment regimens.

I hope this helps
