What Causes Worms In The Stomach?

Help - just found a worm in the toilet!!! Worm is about 4cm long and 0.2cm thick, dark reddish in colour and is alive and wriggling. No-one in the house had used the loo in question since yesterday, we just found it wriggling in the clean toilet pan downstairs.
