What Causes Whooshing Sounds In The Head Along With Dizziness?

Hi. I m a female, 32 years old. I am experiencing dizziness and light headedness with whooshing sounds in my head, weakness and shakiness. This has been going for 4 days now. I had a cold last week and now have yellow mucus. I went to the doctor and did lab tests (iron level, thyroid, sugar, electrolytes) and everything showed normal. I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain dizziness, light headedness with whooshing sounds in my head, weakness and shakiness with latest historu of cold can be due to causes like like Inner ear infection, Meniere's disease, labyrinthitis, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, severe motion sickness, Cervical spondylosis, Peripheral Vertigo etc..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI SCAN of ear and cervical column, blood tests etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised to wear neck support straps and medical therapy with Betahistine..
In case of infection antibiotics can be advised..
Vestibular rehabilitation can also be advised..
Avoid sudden jerky neck movements and take sufficient rest..
