Hi..
Thanks for the query..
As per your complain you have the symptoms of popping sounds in ears along with muffled hearing, whooshing sounds in ears, occasional dizziness, and elevated body temperature with a recent history of cold..
It can be most probably due to
Inner ear infection secondary to cold along with fluid accumulation behind eardrum and blockage in eustachian tubes..
Other cuases can however be Meniere's disease, labyrinthitis, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, severe
motion sickness,
Cervical spondylosis,
Peripheral Vertigo etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI SCAN of ear and cervical column, blood tests etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of oral as well as injectable antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, Tylenol to reduce body temperature and also decongestant nasal sprays containinf
Xylometazoline to dissipate fluid from the ear..
Medical therapy with Betahistine can be given for vertigo..
Vestibular rehabilitation can also be advised..
Avoid sudden jerky neck movements and take sufficient rest..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards.
