What Causes White Spots Inside Ear?

My dr has referred me to an ENT specialist to look at white spots in my ears. What could they be please? I am afraid I was not listening very well when my dr explained it to me I do recall he said he was 99% sure they were not malignant but wanted them checked to be absolutely sure.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have white spots inside ear . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but it seems to me that the symptoms occur due to viral infection of upper respiratory track .

Sometimes when infection of upper respiratory track left untreated or due to low immunity infection spread to ear through eustachian tube ( Eustachian tube dysfunction ) . Spot can also appear due to rupture in ear drum.

Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order examination with otoscope and blood test . Doctor may also examine ear with otoscope to rule out other conditions of ear . Doctor may prescribe anti viral at least for a week along with decongestant , expectorant and anelgesic .

Doctor may also recommend tympanoplasty . Keep your ear dry and cover it while bathing.
