What Causes White Protrusions And Lumps In The Mouth?

Hello Doctor, I am 60, 5'3" 160, and in excellent health. I think I may have Strep, and since I believe in Holistic medicine, I am taking ASAP Solution, (which is Silver) keeping it in my mouth for the recommended 6 minutes 2x's a day, and taking 2Tbsps 2x's a day, and I am also gargling with Apple Cider Vinegar. I am curious as to what a small white protrusion in the right, back inside of my mouth is. Some bumps I had on my tongue are diminishing, so it might be strep, but this small white protrusion is not budging. I have no health insurance. Sincere thanks! Lin

What you are describing, especially if it is not painful, sounds like a tonsillolith, also known as a tonsil stone. Tonsil stones are not true stones, all it is just a bunch of debri that collects in the folds of the tonsils. They dont cause disease, and are really more of a nuisance if they are large as they can cause bad breath. If you have a red, irritated, sore/painful throat, as well as possible fevers, fatigue, and weakness, that could be a 'strep throat', but this does not sound like strep to me. If i may, although I'll understand if you dont agree with me, but I feel I would not be looking out for your best interest if I dont strongly advice you against putting silver solution in your mouth. Silver is known to be antimicrobial, and used on skin for infected wounds, but it absolutely should not be consumed in anyway, even as a gargle rinse, as it is toxic when consumed over time. Further, there are good bacteria in your mouth, and especially in the absence of infection, there is no reason to kill off the good bacteria. In fact, you may be setting yourself up for mouth infections in the future. when you kill off all bacteria in an area, its like taking a nice neighborhood and evicting all the residents. Now you have an empty neighborhood with lots of space and resources for bad residents to move into.
