What Causes White Fibers On The Tongue With The Usage Of Meth?
Hi, I recently started to snort crystal meth, approximately 4 weeks ago, and every time I do it it feels like I have tons of tiny little hairs all over my tongue.... So of course I start to pick at my tongue and I actualy remove a lot of white fibers and lint... Any chance that that's always in my mouth on a daily and don't notice it until I do the drugs?
Hi Dear, Welcome to HCM. Understanding your concern.
Thanks for your query .The symptoms you mention in query is not the direct effect of taking meth . One of the common side effect of meth is 'XEROSTOMIA' that is dryness in mouth which give rise to problem like white hairs . It is basically fungal infection caused by candiasis .
Apart from candidiasis dryness of mouth give rise to other problems also like dental or gum infection difficulty in speech. I would suggest you to quit this habit if there is any difficulty then take the help of psychiatrist .
Maintain proper oral hygiene , do warm saline rinses or beta-dine rinses . Consult dentist/oral pathologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe anti fungal drug like Amphotericin B or drugs to induce saliva secretion .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
