Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain an presentation of symptoms the enlarged Circumvallate Papillae in your case are due to throat infection and it may take a comparatively longer time for the swelling over the papillae to subside and you need not to worry about it..
You can do warm saline gargles and take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and gradually the swelling and soreness caused due to inflammation will subside..

A few other things that will help you are avoiding very hot foods and fluids.
Sucking on ice pops..
Avoid spicy and hard foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
