What Causes Weeping Edema On The Feet?

my husband has fluid tension (major swelling) in his feet and legs. He has CHF and was discharged from the hospital on July 4th , after a 2 month stay. A few hours ago, I noticed that his lower calf and feet were damp. Is it possible that the fluid is leaking thru his skin? And if so, do I need to take him back to the hospital? He is on prescribed meds for the fluid, but doesn t have a great amount of urine output.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern.

Yes fluid retention may leak, if there is small abrasion, also keep in mind the blood flow to the area is also compromised because of dilution and there are more chances of bacterial infection too.

You need to visit the hospital and get the wound as well as fluid retention treated.

Urine output will be decreased or is decreased because of retention caused by congestive heart failure.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further questions.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
