What Causes Warm Sensation In The Knees?

I had a total knee replacement (this is my second) and I am closing in on three months post operation. Just completed my post op therapy via outpatient therapy. Bend is good as well as straightening of knee. I am doing my own home physical therapy now as instructed.I do not see my Dr. for another 4 weeks. I noticed tonight that my new knee is warmer than my other knee after exercise--it is rather crunchy and still somewhat swollen, is this normal at this stage of my recovery? There is no redness or bad pain so I do not expect any kind of infection.

Hello,

It could be an early stage of arthritis. Consult an orthopaedic and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
