What Causes Warm Feeling Under Rib, Back Sore With History Of Diverticulitis?

I am experiencing a warm feeling under my 3rd rib up from the very bottom. If i drink something cold, I can feel it cool that area. My back is sore on both sides, I think from sitting at work. If I stretch, the feeling on the left rig goes away. If i hunch over forward, the warm feeling is there again. I had a run in with diverticuitis about 5 years ago but, nothing since then. ?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of a known case of diverticulitis 5 years ago, but no problems since then.
Now a days have pain under 3rd rib up from the very bottom, feel cool in this area if you drink something cold, Stretching relieves and hunching over increases the increases the problem.
Such problem can occur if there is any disease like slipped disc causing compression over the spinal cord or the nerves.
Simultaneously the feeling of cold on drinking something that is cold can be due to esophagitis and GERD.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get examined by a Doctor.
MRI of the whole spine can help to see for any spinal cord problem.
Upper GI Endoscopy for esophagitis, GERD, stomach problems, reflux, changes in mucosa and so on.
This will help to confirm or rule out any problems.
Till then you can have the following:
PPI like Omeprazole.
Antacid, particularly when you are on empty stomach.
Motility regulator like Domperidone if required.
Soft bland diet, small frequent meals.
Avoid stress and anxiety as these generate a vicious cycle.
