What Causes Vomiting While On Lipitor?

I have liver damage because I have been on lipator for a year. I had a heart attack and that is when they put me on the meds. Now I have prostate cancer. They inserted the seeds about a month ago. I have been throwing up and not been able to eat. My AST is 42u/l and my ALT is 79u/l.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The change to your liver function test is very mild. The normal upper limit of AST is approximately 40 and ALT is 56.

The statins such as lipitor, increase liver enzymes (AST and ALT) but there is no physical damage or change seen.
When the medication is stopped , if it is the only reason for the increase, then the levels decrease.

I hope this helps
